Another common sign you should not miss is obsession of the person to having Crack. The patients have devising methods in which to acquire a regular supply of the substance. Crack maintains its high effect for about 10 minutes; hence, the addict will keep devising methods for acquiring more supplies of the substance.

Given that addicts have to keep taking fresh doses after every few minutes, their social relationship is also affected. People, who used to be very social, pull back and just prefer to stay on their own so that they can take the drugs without being questioned by colleagues. Absconding from regular duties such as their job, school, and other social situations becomes the order of the day.

After a person has taken Crack, they tend to gain an indifferent mood even when they are faced with a dilemma, while others become sociable and talkative for about 15 minutes after which the excited mood disappears and is replaced by the anxious and sullen atmosphere.

Lastly, change in financial pattern is indispensable. Addicts start borrowing from friends under false claims, neglecting their loved ones, writing false checks, acquiring salary advances and after all the legitimate ways of acquiring cash fail, they turn to stealing. Crack is cheaper than many illegal drugs, but since it only lasts for short periods of time, it compels the user to keep purchasing more thereby creating financial stress.
